NEW CARLISLE - Gerelda C. (Yuhouse) Boyer, 87, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 7:57 PM Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. She was born on June 11, 1921 to the late Everist and Emma (Truyaert) Serry in New Carlisle, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; one brother, Oscar Serry also preceded her in death. Mrs. Boyer was retired from National Tea in South Bend, IN, where she worked for 23 years. On September 29, 1939, as Gerelda C. Serry, she married Julius Yuhouse in South Bend, IN. He died on August 27, 1984. She then married Raymond Boyer on June 27, 1987 in South Bend, IN. He died on Nov. 18, 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann (Bob) Youngs of Mishawaka, IN; Sharon Delph of New Carlisle, IN; one son, Julius "Butch" (Patricia) Yuhouse of New Carlisle, IN; two step-daughters, Nancy Boyer of Mishawaka, IN; Lois Reed of Rossville, IN; seven grandchildren, Carla Wenthe; Colleen Crawford; Mike, Matt, and Mark Youngs; Jill Yuhouse; Julie Yuhouse; eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Alexis, Michelle, Cody, Nick, Brandon, Emma; one great-great-grandson, Ethan; and one sister, Mary Wagner of Niles, MI. Mrs. Boyer was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in New Carlisle, IN; and a 60 year member of the Lunch Bunch.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday, October 31, 2008 in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in New Carlisle, IN.
