SOUTH BEND - John W. Boyer, 94, of Tonti Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the Fountainview Place Nursing Home. Mr. Boyer was born to John and Rosa Boyer in Logansport, Ind., on Sept. 30, 1903.
Mr. Boyer married the former Miriam L. Harbaugh in South Bend on April 22, 1933. Miriam survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Marilyn Timberlake of Three Rivers, Mich., and Marjorie Ditsler of Warsaw, Ohio; a son, John William Boyer of South Bend; and by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Boyer retired in 1971 after 45 years of service as a vice-president of sales with the South Bend Supply Company. Mr. Boyer was very active and a member of the First Christian Church, South Bend, a member of St. Joseph Lodge 45 F&AM, and the Scottish Rite of South Bend.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the First Christian Church, South Bend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the church. Dr. William J. Wassner will officiate. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
