Elvira Braeckelaere

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Elvira Braeckelaere, 57, of 2407 Milburn Blvd., died this morning (Tuesday) in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of six days. She was born in Amandsaberg, Belgium and moved here 40 years ago. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Aloys VanAvermaete of South Bend, Mrs. Albert DeCraene of Mishawaka and Mrs. Donald W.  Wozniak of Mishawaka; two brothers Octal Vervaet of Canada, and William Vervaet of Mishawaka; and four sisters, Mrs. Theophiel VanVooren, Mrs. Emil Stroobandt, and Mrs. Frank Vaerewyck all of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Harry Stroobandt of South Bend; and seven grandchildren.

 

Friends may call today after 2 p.m. in the Thallemer Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

 

Editor: As Elvira Vanvaet she married Charles Braeckelaere on 6-21-1918 in St. Joseph County. He died 11-14-1966.
