Erma A. Brasini

April 23, 1910 -- Dec. 29, 2003

                                       

Erma A. Brasini, 93, of South Spring Street, Mishawaka passed away peacefully in her home at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29.

Erma was born on April 23, 1910, in Lehigh, Iowa, as the daughter of the late Anselmo and Julia (Bissognani) Zanotti. She was raised by her father and stepmother Inez Peraccini who preceded her in death. Erma was also preceded in death by her brother, Nino Zanotti.

On Oct. 18, 1928, as the former Erma A. Zanotti, in Mishawaka, she married Julius S. Brasini, who preceded her in death on July 30, 1995. Erma is survived by a daughter, Juliana C. (Leonard) Whitfield of Mishawaka; a son, Julius E. (Joycelyn) Brasini of Frankfort, Ill.; four grandchildren, Karen (William)Andrews, Janet (Timothy) Hyduk, Joann (James) Welsh and David (Beth) Whitfield; eight great-grandchildren, Billy and Michelle Andrews, Kelly and Megan Welsh, Rachel, Michael, Jacob, Abigail and Zachary Whitfield, and Joe Hyduk; two sisters, Mary Vernasco and Julia Baugher, both of Mishawaka.

Erma worked for Uniroyal. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She enjoyed spending time at home with her family. Erma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be truly missed but never forgotten.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
