Emma Braunsdorf

Services for Emma Braunsdorf, 103, formerly of 1440 E Hildreth St., who died at 8 p.m. Friday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.  Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday.

 

She had retired from Studebaker Corp.  Born March 12, 1885, in Grantham, England, she had lived here since 1905, coming from England. 

 

On June 30, 1908, in South Bend, she married Walter John Braunsdorf, who died Jan. 19, 1950.  Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Ruth Braunsdorf of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  A daughter, Dorothy Guthrie, and three sons, Robert, Warren and Walter Braunsdorf, preceded her in death.  She was a member of Past Chiefs of the Pythian Sisters, Ladies Plumbing Auxiliary of St. Joseph Co., and a lifelong member of Cathedral of St. James Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cathedral of St. James, Lucie L. Niemeyer Memorial Fund.
