Joseph A. Braunsdorf Sr.

July 21, 1906 – Sept. 17, 1978

Joseph A. Braunsdorf Sr., 72, of 818 N. St. Louis, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday at home after a three-month illness.  He was born on July 21, 1906, in South Bend, where he spent most of his life.  Bruansdorf was a retired electrical engineer, having worked for Indiana & Michigan Electric Co. for many years. 

 

On April 29, 1931, he married Margaret Berry, who survives.  Also surviving are two grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret O’Neil and Mrs. Alice Hennion, both of South Bend, and two brothers, William of South Bend and Dr. Robert of Topeka, Kan.  Braunsdorf was a 1924 graduate of the old South Bend High School.  In 1928 he graduated from the University of Notre Dame.  He was a licensed Indiana professional engineer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Paul Wendel, C.S.C., pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McGann Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
