Robert L. Braunsdorf

July 8, 1899 – Oct. 7, 1965

Robert L. Braunsdorf, Sr., 66, of 505 W. Marion St., president of Braunsdorf Plumbing and Heating, Inc., died at 7:05 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after an illness of one month. The firm, located at 319 S. St. Peter St., was established by Mr. Braunsdorf’s father in 1901.  Born on July 8, 1899, in South Bend, Mr. Braunsdorf had lived here all his life.

 

He was married in 1955 in South Bend to Louise Dunnuck, who survives.  Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Emma Braunsdorf, South Bend; two sons, Robert Jr. and Warren J., both of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Clark, of Kalamazoo; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carolyn Morehouse, of Lakewood, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Walter, of Mishawaka and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Guthrie, of South Bend.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Orvis Funeral Home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Blantz, C.S.C., assistant pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the Kiwanis Moose Lodge, Master Plumbers Assn. and Maennerchor Club.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society of St. Joseph County, Inc.

The pallbearers for Robert L. Braunsdorf St., 505 W Marion St., who died Thursday morning, will be Samuel Slutsky, Edward J. White, O. J. Shoemaker, Wallace Shriener, Raymond Hoffman and Charles Stickler.  The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
