Ruth H. Braunsdorf

Ruth H. Braunsdorf, 72, of 1416 N. Logan St., died about 11 p.m. Sunday in Greensprings manor, South Bend, after an illness.  She had worked for five years as a cashier at A & P and Kroger grocery stores in the 1950s.  Born March 29, 1916, in South Bend, she was a lifelong area resident. 

 

On March 21, 1936, as Ruth H. Tuttle, she married Walter L. Braunsdorf.  He died Nov. 11, 1970.  Survivors include two sons, Thomas Dan Braunsdorf of Katy, Texas, and James A. Braunsdorf of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Gordon of Chicago; and three brothers, A. Lyle Tuttle of Sun City, Ariz., R. Bruce Tuttle of Skokie, Ill, and Rex S. Tuttle of Des Plaines, Ill.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Mrs. Braunsdorf was a member of the “34 Club”.
