William H. Braunsdorf

William H. Braunsdorf, aged 81, of 1122 North Notre Dame avenue, died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday in the residence of his daughter, Mrs. James J. O’Neill, with whom he lived the last three years.  He was ill three weeks.  Born in Cooperstown, N.Y., Dec. 19, 1868, he came here as a boy. 

 

On Sept. 27, 1893, he married Mary E. Luther, who survives.  Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. George F. Hennion, of South Bend; three sons, William H. Jr., and Joseph A., both of South Bend, and Dr. Robert L., of Topeka, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Embick, of South Bend. 

 

Friends may call in the Hickey funeral home until funeral services at 8 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph’s Catholic church.  Rev. Phillip V. Beaghan, C.S.C., pastor will officiate.  Burial will be Cedar Grove cemetery.  He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Joseph’s church and the Third Order Secular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  The latter group will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Donald and Charles O’Neill, Louis Smada, Eugene Policinski, Gerald Curtin and Robert Braunsdorf.
