Emma Brazeau

Dec. 16, 1926 - Oct. 11, 2008

South Bend Tribune 10/14/2008
SOUTH BEND - Emma Brazeau, 81, died at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, on October 11, 2008, surrounded by her family who loved her very much. Emma was born in Cambridge, Wisconsin, on December 16, 1926, to Berge and Ella (Netland) Televik. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. On October 25, 1947, Emma married William H. Brazeau. They moved to Indiana in 1952. She was employed by Uniroyal and retired from Holy Cross House at Notre Dame in 1997. Emma was a Green Bay Packer fan, but her true passion was NASCAR racing. She never missed a race, keeping track of her 4th cousin, Matt Kenseth #17. Although she had a passion for NASCAR racing, her true love was her husband, Bill, who died in 1973, her daughters, grandchildren and siblings. She never stopped caring for her family even after she was diagnosed with cancer in March 2008. Finally, her family had a chance to take care of her. She was a mom to everyone and always there. She never complained and fought to the bitter end. Anytime anyone asked how she was doing, she always said, "pretty good!" She will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. We are happy that she is finally with the love of her life, Bill, and her daughter, Mary, who preceded her in death on October 15, 2005. Mom, grandma, sister, aunt, thanks for always being so thoughtful, kind and sweet; without your love our family just would not be complete. You are the cookies in the cookie jar - the cocoa in a mug - the sprinkles on a cupcake all wrapped up in a hug. We Love You!

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Berge and Ella Televik; her husband, William H. Brazeau; a daughter, Mary Followay; and brothers, Raynard and Kenneth "Knute" Televik. Emma leaves behind daughters, Sharon Cunningham, Alecia Cottingham and Julie Costello; sisters, Bernice Kreisler, Mildred Shearer, Mary Rue and Susan Hepp; grandchildren, Christopher Cunningham, Lisa Groshek, Kurt Cunningham, Sean Pritzel, Niki DeBroka, Jacob Cottingham and Kellie Cottingham; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany, Sean Jr., Darion, Nina, Trey, Brett and Gavin; and soon-to-be great-grandson, Christopher David.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 West Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
