Dorothy F. Brechenser
Dorothy Brechenser, 74, of South
Bend, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006, in her
residence. Dorothy was born on January 15, 1932, in Mishawaka to
Frank and Josephine (Niespodziany) Lahey. She was
preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Jo Anastasio.
On July 2, 1960, she married William
Brechenser. He survives, along with their children, Thomas (Anne)
Brechenser of South Bend, Mary (Greg) Sumi of Los Angeles;
three grandchildren, Sarah Anne, Sean and Emily Brechenser; and
her two siblings, Frank J. (Carol) Lahey of Bloomfield, CT, and
Patricia Schaeffer of Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Dorothy was a teacher for the Diocese School
Corporation from 1955-1968. She was a member of St. -Anthony
DePadua Catholic Church, and Christ Child Society. She also
enjoyed reading and traveling out East.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in St. Anthony DePadua Catholic
Church. St. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South
Bend is assisting the family. Burial will take place at a later
date in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Christ Child Society or to The
Masonic Learning Center for Children, 427 N. Main St., South
Bend, IN 46601.
