Frederick Breda

SOUTH BEND - Frederick Breda, 82, a resident of the Indiana Veterans Home, died there at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15. He moved to the home earlier this year. Born in Rotterdam, Holland, on June 8, 1916, he came to the United States in 1923. He had previously lived in Wakarusa and South Bend, Ind.

 

He was married to Christina Ellis in South Bend in 1957. She died in 1972. Mr. Breda retired in 1985 from the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company in South Bend. He was a military policeman in the Army during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 50 and VFW Post 1167, both of South Bend.

 

He is survived by a stepson, Tony Nasco of Edwardsburg, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Nasco of Bicknell; a brother, John Breda of Greensboro, N.C.; and by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Darr and Mrs. Christine Leasure, both of Grand Bay, Ala.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Highland Cemetery Chapel, the Rev. Warren Banks officiating. Hippensteel Funeral Home, Inc., Lafayette, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.
