Joseph Lewis Breveard

June 20, 1940 - June 2, 1997

Mr. Joseph Lewis Breveard, 56, of 9514 E. 36th Place, Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness on Monday, June 2, in his residence. He was born to the union of Warner and Mary (Payne) Breveard on June 20, 1940, in South Bend.

 

Mr. Breveard served in the United States Army, retired with 20 years of service, and was honorably discharged. After retiring from the military he enrolled at Indiana University and graduated with a degree in accounting. He was employed as a certified public accountant at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

 

To cherish his memory is a daughter, Barbara Wollenberg of Grab Krotzenburg, West Germany; three sons, Joseph, Jr., Ravanna, and Dakarai Breveard, all of South Bend; a sister, Mary Breveard of Elkhart, Ind.; two brothers, Charles (Carol) and Rodney (Darlene) Breveard, both of South Bend; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Mary Breveard; and by three brothers, Warner, Jr., John and Wayne Breveard.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the New Hope Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Alford's Mortuary.
