Elizabeth M. Brewer, 88, of East Ewing Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Saturday, Feb. 16, in Hospice House. She was born July 9, 1913, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident.

On Sept. 16, 1939, as Elizabeth Vicsik, she married Carol H. Brewer, who died on Feb. 7, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Regina Vicsik; and by two brothers, Stephen F. and Joseph J. Vicsik. In her earlier years, she was employed by Wilson Brothers. Elizabeth retired from Krogers in 1975 after 17 years as a cashier, and was also employed by the Dainty Maid Bake Shop. Elizabeth was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral and the Rosary Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Harold) Nofzinger of South Bend; two granddaughters, Kathy (Kevin) Reisinger of Valparaiso, Ind., and Debbie (Shawn) Simpson of Peoria, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Mary A. Robak of South Bend.

There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. The St. Joseph Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
