Robert J. Brock

Robert J. Brock of Milburn Blvd. in Mishawaka died Sunday evening, June 23 in the Pikes Peak Hospice Central Residence in Colorado Springs, Colo. after an illness. Mr. Brock was born on Dec. 7, 1925 in Mishawaka, where he was a lifelong resident.

 

On Feb. 25, 1949, he married Dorla Joan Garrison who preceded him in death on March 4, 1993.

Robert is survived by a daughter, Lori Lynn Daugherty of Colorado Springs, two sons, Mark S. Brock of South Bend and Bret R. Brock of North Liberty, and a granddaughter, Shannon Brock of North Liberty. His mother, Opal D. Brock died on May 14, 1995. Robert retired from O.J. Shoemaker, working on the Notre Dame campus for them. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 172; he belonged to St. Bavo Catholic Church; was active in Cub Scouts at LaSalle School and Southwest Little League in Mishawaka for a number of years also. He was a World War II Navy veteran for whom he was involved in the invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach.

 

 

Friends may call at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, on Friday, June 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery at a later time.

Friends may make memorial contributions to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
