Earl Brockus, 87, of West Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Earl was born on Nov. 28, 1910, in Argos, Ind., and was a lifelong area resident. He retired in 1973 from the Bendix Corporation after 40 years of service.

On Sept. 1, 1939, in South Bend, Earl married Clarabelle Buck, who survives. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Earl was a member of the South Bend Turners Club and was on the bowling team. He was on the basketball and softball teams for the Bendix Corp. for several years. He was also an avid golfer. Earl was a loving husband and uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
