Fred Brockus

NILES - Fred Brockus, 81, of 1853 Lewis Drive, died at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeland Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Brockus retired in 1991, as owner of Stanley's Meat Market, South Bend. He was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Argos and moved to Niles in 1950, from South Bend.

 

On April 9, 1938, in South Bend, he married Priscilla A. ''Pat'' Balog. She survives with two daughters, Ginger Kane and Patricia Glavin, both of Buchanan; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl of South Bend. A daughter, Loretta Marie Thomas, died April 30, 1991. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
