SOUTH BEND - Barbara L. Brohman, 86, of Inwood Estates, South Bend, formerly of Stocker Place, South Bend, passed away at 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, in Regency Place of South Bend. Barbara was born on February 13, 1921, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Earl B. and Mildred (Lehnen) Pickett.

On July 8, 1966, in Grand Rapids, Barbara married Leonard R. Brohman, who died on June 11, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Jewett, and a brother, Roger Pickett. She lived in the South Bend area for 65 years, coming from Grand Rapids. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Whitlow of Mishawaka and Shirley (Jim) Hammond of Ward, AR; a brother, Bernard "Bernie" (Cindy) Pickett of South Bend; and 23 nieces and nephews. Barbara was a loving surrogate mother for many years to her brothers and sisters. According to Barbara's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46545.
