Byron B. Brooks

Byron B. Brooks, age 95, of S. Gladstone Avenue, died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday in Transitional Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Brooks was born June 26, 1901, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He was a former employee of RACO Inc., where he worked as a timekeeper.

 

On May 18, 1926, in South Bend, he married Tillie Wlodarski, who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1974. He is survived by a daughter, Dolores Brooks of South Bend; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Relna Wlodarski; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Brooks in death were two sisters, Irene Sheets and Luela Moorehouse, and three brothers, Leo, George, and Ted Brooks.

 

 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Mr. Brooks was an usher for the University of Notre Dame for 36 years.
