Edward F. Brooks

Mr. Edward F. Brooks, 82, of North Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 2, 1917, in South Bend. Edward was a pattern maker, serving a four-year apprenticeship and one-year journeyman at the Bendix Corpor-ation. Edward was a lifelong member of the Pattern Makers League of North America. He also worked as superintendent of the Village Terre Apartments.

 

On May 27, 1939, in South Bend, he married Lucille Brooks, who survives. He is also survived by a sister, Adeline Colip of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a brother, Ray Siporski of South Bend; four beloved nieces, Patricia Mondovics of Granger, Ind., Cheryl Lane and Candyce Discavage, both of South Bend, and Susan Whitman of Palm Beach Gardens; three beloved nephews, Steve Whitaker of Elkhart, Ind., James Michalski of South Bend and Robert Cole of Union, N.J.; and by several great- nieces and nephews. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Dhoore.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 9, in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, Rev. James Iliff officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends called on Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
