Rev. Christopher F. Brooks CSC, 82, of Holy Cross House, Notre Dame, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend. He had been in retirement on the campus since last year. He was born on Dec. 25, 1884 in Watertown, Wis. He entered the Holy Cross Novitiate on July 6, 1912; made his final profession of vows on Oct. 31, 1914, and was ordained in March, 1920. He served as a foreign missionary in Bengal, India ( now East Pakistan) from 1920 to 1929 and from 1931 to 1938. From 1948 to 1958 he was chaplain of the St. Joseph Novitiate at Rolling Prairie. From 1958 until his retirement he was chaplain of Reitz Memorial Hospital in Evansville.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Moreau Seminary at Notre Dame. The Office of the Dead and a requiem mass will be said at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the seminary.
