Mrs. Bessie E. Brown, 87, of 746 Sherman Ave., died at 11:20a.m. Wednesday in Carlyle Nursing Home after a four year illness. She was born Dec.19, 1881, in St. Joseph County and had lived here her lifetime. She was married Sept. 3, 1901, in South Bend to Ira D. Brown, who died April 12, 1959. Surviving are a brother, Charles E. Mikesell of South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl M. Lydick of South Bend and Mrs. Nellie M. Stroup of New Carlisle. Freinds may call after 3 p.m. today in  the Welsheimer Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Harry Collier, of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
