Cleatis V. Brown

Cleatis V. "Bud" Brown, 80, residing on Toledo Avenue, Osceola, Ind., passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Fountainview Place Nursing Home, Mishawaka, Ind. Mr. Brown was born on Oct. 27, 1918, in Wheatfield, Ind., to the late Charles K. and Mamie Adkins Brown, and had lived in the Michiana community most of his life. He and his wife have also spent winters in Orlando, Fla., since 1982. Mr. Brown retired from the Bendix Corporation following 32 years of service where he served as a burr operator.

 

On June 13, 1948, in Sherburnville, Ill., he married Harriet D. Smith. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 51 years, Harriet. He is also survived by two daughters, Nancy Holloway of Osceola, Ind., and Betty Walker of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four grandchildren, Kim Walker of Cheyenne, Timothy Hyink of Osceola, Carl H. Walker, Jr., of Elkhart, Ind., and Dustin Holloway of Osceola; and by two sisters, Grace Thompson of Winamac, Ind., and Leona Crawford of South Bend, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.

 

Mr. Brown was a member of the South Side Church of God in South Bend, and was a member of the South Side Christian Church in Orlando, Fla.

 

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today, Oct. 28, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Greg D. Crump, pastor of the South Side Church of God will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. today until time of services in the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, in Sherburnville Cemetery, Grant Park, Ill.
