SOUTH BEND - Jack W. Brown, 49, of North Michigan Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 7, 1948, in Jackson, Mich., and had lived in South Bend for 27 years, coming from Carmel, Ind.

 

Mr. Brown is survived by his mother, Alma ''Ginny'' Brown of South Bend; two sisters, Joan Lee Brown and her husband, Tom of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Shari Theismann Allentuck and her husband, Barry of Cooper City, Fla.; four nieces, Amy Theismann, Jennifer, Sandra and Kristin Shultz Brown; and by two nephews, Joseph and Patrick Theismann. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack W. Brown, Sr., who died in an automobile accident on July 5, 1983.

 

Mr. Brown was a hair stylist for 27 years and was the owner of American Beauty Hair Classic located in South Bend. He graduated from the South Bend Cosmetology College in 1975. He attended two years of college at Hillsdale College and two years at Butler University. He attended Community Congregational Church. He was a former member of the Presbyterian Players, and was a member of the National Cosmetology Association.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street.

Services for Mr. Brown will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Somerset Center Cemetery, Somerset Center, Mich. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Community Congregational Church, 19671 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, Ind., 2506 Liberty Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
