SOUTH BEND - Oma "Becky" N. Brown, 84, passed away at 3:15 pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Oma was born on November 17, 1925, in West Branch, IA, to the late Edward and Geneva (Wilson) Beck. On February 3, 1948 she married James M. Brown, he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Warren, Willard, Mildred and Margaret; and by her half siblings, Sophie, Paul, John, and Wesley. Becky is survived by her children, Melinda Wesolowski of Mishawaka, John (Pamela) Brown of South Bend, Mark (Sue Ryan)Brown of South Bend and R.D. (Gail) Brown of South Bend; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Becky worked for Ball Band for many years and worked for St. Joseph Care West. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. She loved spending time with her family. Becky was a loving wife and mother. Her family was always the most important part of her life. The love and devotion she gave to her family and caring nature will live on forever in her children. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. John Ways, South Bend, IN 46628. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
