Sister Marie deLourdes Bruneau CSC, 79, died Tuesday in St. Mary’s Convent after a lengthy illness. She was born Marion Denyse Bruneau on Feb. 17, 1897 in Munising, Mich. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s Dec. 2, 1917 coming from Salt Lake City. She mad her final profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1920. She taught at St. Joseph Academy in South Bend from 1920 to 1923. The remainder of her career was spent teaching in secondary schools in California. She was president of St. Mary of Wasatch College in Salt Lake City from 1954 to 1959. She retired in 1972 and resided at St. Catherinew’s Nr-theSea in Venrura, Calif. In 1974 she returned to St. Mary’s Convent.

 

Friends may call Thursday and Friday in the convent parlors where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
