Louis W. Bukowski Sr

August 20, 1912October 17, 1995

 

SOUTH BEND – Louis W. Bukowski Sr, 83, of Campeau Stret, died at 5:30am today in his home after an illness.  Mr. Bukowski retired in 1976 form AM General Corp and was a former employee of Studebaker Corp and South Bend Toy Co.

 

He was born August 20, 1912, in South Bend.  On July 2, 1938, in South Bend, he married Loretta T. Dombrowski.  She survives with two daughters, Theresa Behar of Fort Wayne and Dr. Mary Ann Bukowski of Kalamazoo; a son, Louis Jr of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Elizabeth Svatos of South Bend; and two brothers, Chester and Walter, both of South Bend.  A daughter, Carol Marie Bukowski, died February 2, 1940.

 

He was a member of Golden Cluster and Holy Name Society, both of St Hedwig Catholic Church, Z.B. Falcons Nest 80 and their Legion of Honor, past president of Z.B. Conservation Club, Local 5 Retirees Club, and was a former Scout master of Boy Scouts of America at St Casimir’s School.

 

Services will be at 10am Thursday in the church.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 8pm Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a combined rosary will be said at 4pm by the parish and Golden Cluster.  Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Mishawaka.
