Gerri Mezas  Bulger

June 23, 1943 - Feb. 7, 2002

Gerri Mezas, 58, of Rockne Drive, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2002, at 7:35 p.m. after a six year battle with breast cancer. Gerri was born to Walter and Janice (Dwelle) Guenther on June 23, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio. They both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mezas on August 20, 1995.

 

As Gerri Mezas, she married Horace Bulger who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Betsy (David) Yorka of Columbus, Ohio, Mindy Mezas of South Bend, and Jeane (Kirk) Rice also of South Bend; four grandchildren, Sabrina Slone, of LaPaz, Shawna Slone of South Bend, Koby Copley of South Bend and Harper Yorka of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Nancy Raymond of Mentor, Ohio; two nieces, Julie Cowdrick of Mentor, Ohio, Tracy (Dan) Rogan of Austinburg, Ohio; and one nephew, Craig (Tracy) Raymond of Euclid, Ohio. Also several great nieces and nephews and dear friends. Gerri was self employed as an interior decorator, and was a member of Bosom Buddies.

 

Friends and family many call at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, on Sunday, February 10, 2002 between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gilbert Washington officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice of South Bend or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
