James A. Burger

Jan. 18, 1939 - Aug. 9, 1998

SOUTH BEND - James A. Burger, 59, of West Sample Street, South Bend, Ind., died of natural causes at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, in the home of his daughter.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1939, in South Bend, and lived in this area most of his life.

He was employed by Lock Joint Tube, Inc., and was also an employee of the former South Bend Toy for 30 years.

On May 19, 1972, in South Bend, he married Marie Ciesiolka, who preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 1996.

He is survived by three daughters, Debby (Jerry) Jarvis, Roberta (Mike) Tice and Darlene (Fred) Mitchell, all of South Bend; two sons, Joe (Rosemarie) Laskowski and John Laskowski, both of South Bend; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Kowalski of Lamont, Ill.; and by a brother, Jack Burger of Utica, Miss.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby.

Mr. Burger was a member of the Westside Democratic Club, I.U.E. Local 911, and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
