LAKEVILLE - Services for Richard F. Burger, 85, of 301 E. Patterson, who died at 4 a.m Wednesday in his daughter's home at 12842 2C Road, Plymouth, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where the Lakeville Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Monson Chapel United Methodist Church, South Bend.

 

Mr. Burger retired in 1972 as a truck driver after 25 years at Shippers Dispatch Inc., South Bend. He was born Nov. 20, 1910, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On July 1, 1950, in South Bend, he married Letha M. Kirkley. She survives with four daughters, Karen Schieber of Plymouth, Kathleen Wise of Lakeville, Priscilla Mudrovich of South Bend and Norma Bevilhymer of Osceola; two sons, James of North Liberty and Donald of South Bend; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Marilyn Burger, died in 1937. He was a member of the Lakeville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Teamsters Union Local 364, South Bend, and Florida Avenue Baptist Church, Avon Park, Fla.
