Sister M. Paulette, CSC (Lucile Agnes Burke), died on Saturday, Jan. 8, in Queen of Peace Convent, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind. Sister M. Paulette was born on Aug. 14, 1910, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to the late Walter P. and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Burke.

 

She entered the Congregation of Sisters of the Holy Cross at Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, on June 10, 1927, from Idaho Falls, Idaho, and made final profession in the Congregation on Aug. 15, 1930. Sister Paulette is survived by her sister, Mary Enell of Langley, Wash. Sister M. Paulette taught in elementary and secondary schools from 1930 - 1967 and was a librarian from 1967-1995. She was assigned to schools in Woodland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Downey and Ventura in Calif., Park City; Salt Lake City and Ogden in Utah; Nampa, Boise and Pocatello in Idaho, Las Vegas, Nev., and in Brookland, D.C. She returned to Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, in 1982 where she assisted in the convent library until 1995, after which she was engaged in ministry of prayer.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Jan. 12, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, followed by interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Wake services were held on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
