William M. Burks
April 16, 1922 - Oct. 6, 1999
William M. Burks, 77, of Normandy
Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday,
Oct. 6, in his home. William was born on April 16, 1922, in
Selmer, Tenn., to George and Ida (Wardlow) Burks, who both
preceded him in death.
On March 5, 1946, in Marked Tree, Ark.,
William married Geneva White. William leaves to cherish
his memories his loving wife; two sons, Gary (Dawn) Burks of
South Bend, Ind., and Keith (Jamie) Burks of Osceola, Ind.; three
daughters, Barbara (Elmer) Rice of Mishawaka, Linda
(Arthur) Beauprez of Apache Junction, Ariz., C. Sharon
(Herb) Tebo of Mishawaka; a sister, Massey King of
Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
William was in the United States Army and
was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for Bock Industries
as a machinist and retired in 1991. Will belonged to the
Teamsters Union and Middlebury American Legion Post #220.
Friends may visit with the Burks family from
2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, in the funeral
home. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
