Susan Frances Burns-Zappia, 38, of Parkwood Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.

 

Susan was born on Oct. 1, 1963, in Logan, W.Va., to Thomas D. and Jean Sulane (Griffin) Zappia.

 

Susan worked for the National Steel Corporation in Mishawaka.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Kaylea Dawn Burns of South Bend; her father, Thomas D. Zappia of Logan; and by her two brothers, Darren Zappia of Logan; and Stephen (Kelly) Zappia of Roanoke, Va.; one nephew, Austin Zappia of Roanoke, Va.; five nieces, Hannah Zappia of Logan, Courtney Sydney and Annie Livingston of South Bend, and Hali Burns of Culver City, Calif.; and by other extended family members, Brenda and Robert Allen of Granger, Ind., Jill and Robb Livingston of South Bend, Scott Burns of South Bend and Dawn Burns of Culver City.

 

Susan attended Little Flower Catholic Church and Granger Community Church.

 

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, in Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood, South Bend. Father Michael Belinski will officiate the services.

Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
