SOUTH BEND – Mary Jo Burzynski, 53, of Avondale AZ, died Friday, August 10, 2007, as the result of a traffic accident that also claimed the life of her best friend, Bobby Miles.

Mary Jo was born on September 12, 1953, in South Bend IN, to the late Stanley and Bernice (Farrell) Burzynski, and lived in Arizona for 30 years.  She was employed with Qwest Communications in Arizona.  Surviving are her brother, Tom Burzynski of South Bend; nieces, Megan Burzynski of Jacksonville FL and Shelby Burzynski of Interlachen FL, and a nephew, Alex Burzynski of Interlachen FL.  A brother, John V. Burzynski and a niece, Mary Catherine Burzynski, preceded her in death.

Her nieces and nephew were very special to Mary Jo and they will miss her deeply.  Mary Jo graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1971.  She began her career with Indiana Bell in South Bend in 1971 and transferred to Phoenix AZ in 1977.  She remained close to her family and friends in Indiana and had many friends in Arizona.  Mary Jo loved to travel throughout the United States and abroad.  Mary Jo brought sunshine into this world wherever she was.  She had a smile that no one could forget.  Mary Jo will live forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten by everyone whose life she touched.

A memorial Mass will be held at 1pm Wednesday, September 12, 2007, in St Stanislaus Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield Street, South Bend IN.  Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery.  Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Arrangements by the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend IN
