Elizabeth Esther Bushman

Elizabeth Esther Bushman, 96, of Orkney Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, in Caring Junction, Inc., in Mishawaka, Ind. Elizabeth was born June 7, 1905, in Divernon, Ill., as the daughter of the late Basil and Blodwen (Wall) Tyler. Elizabeth was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford in 1988, Jonathan in 1974 and Basil Jr. in 1981.

 

On Dec. 5, 1924, in Mishawaka, as Elizabeth Tyler, she married David Bushman, who also preceded her in death May 2, 1967. Elizabeth is survived by a brother, Charles (Louise) Tyler of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a niece, Lou Ann (Ceville) Hinman of Vicksburg, Mich.; and by many other nieces and nephews.

 

Elizabeth moved to Michiana in 1923, coming from Divernon. She worked as a supervisor for Uniroyal for 35 years, retiring in 1960. She was a member of Coalbush United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, and was a 50-year member of Mishawaka Chapter #267 O.E.S. and the Tens Auxiliary.

 

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Feb. 13, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, with a one hour visitation prior in Coalbush United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Jim Davidson officiating. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
