Michalina M. Bystry

Michalina M. Bystry, 100, of N. College Street, passed away at 5:25 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Country Care West, South Bend, IN. Mrs. Bystry was born on May 28, 1900, in Bydgocz, Poland. In 1945 she married Theodore Bystry, who died on October 27, 1958.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Cecelia (Berger) Swanson of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Kenneth Swanson of West LaFayette, IN, Ann (Fred) Dean of Granger, IN; a great-granddaughter, Emily Putnam of Indianapolis, IN; and her caregivers, Robert and Veldoris Nielson of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by two sons, Harry and Joseph Smiechowski.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000, in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Bystry was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish, Harvest House and Apostleship of Prayer. She loved her rose garden and crocheting.
