Lillian F. Caddy

Lillian F. Caddy, 83, residing on St. Peter Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 9, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

She worked for many years at Drewry's Bottling Company, South Bend, retired from the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, and retired from the North Dining Hall at the University of Notre Dame. She was born on Jan. 6, 1921, in Michigan City, Ind., to George and Clara Cowgill, and was an area resident most of her life. Her husband, John Caddy, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Caddy is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Morehouse of South Bend; five grandchildren, Rob Morehouse of Lakeville, Ind., Bethanne Burtzlaff of Niles, Mich., Thomas Caddy Jr. of Mishawaka, Ind., Toni Davis of Silva, Mo., and Kelly Mahler of South Bend; and by great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Thomas Caddy and Robert Caddy.

Mrs. Caddy was a member of American Legion Post 303 Auxiliary for 22 years and was a longstanding member of the VFW. She was an avid bowler and loved to play cards.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. today, May 12, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Gil Washington will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.
