Joseph D. Cameron

Joseph D. Cameron, 64, died Monday, December 31, 2001, in VA Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was a resident of Inverness, Fla., and formerly of Indianapolis and South Bend. He was born October 4, 1937, in Indianapolis. His parents were Maurice and Lillian (Stitt) Cameron.

 

He married Josephine Gibson. She survives. Survivors include one son, James Dean Cameron of Indianapolis; one daughter, Christine Ross of Indianapolis; one stepson, Bradley Brown of Lutz, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Pamela Hahn and Evelyn Brown, both of Indianapolis; one grandchild; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

 

He was employed for many years by University Park Mall in South Bend, IN as facilities manager. He also was a Drug and Alcohol counselor for 16 years at South Bend Memorial Hospital. He was a volunteer fireman for 14 years in Wayne Township in Indianapolis and in Acton. He was a member of First Church of God in Inverness, Florida and American Legion Post #276 in Beech Grove. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

 

Rev. Greg Crump will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, S.R. 135 Chapel, Florida. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
