Edward Douglas Campbell

October 18, 1905December 2, 1985

 

Edward Douglas Campbell, 80, of 1218 Garland Road, died at 6am Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness.  Mr. Campbell retired in 1979 as financial vice president of Associates Investment Co, serving as interim president after the death of Robert Oare until Dr. Oliver C. Carmichael was elected.

 

He was born October 18, 1905, in Listowel, Canada, coming to South Bend in 1946 from St Louis, he married the former Hope Pangman, who survives.  Also surviving are three sons, I. Douglas and Murray C., both of Niles, and Donald S. of Kingston, Ontario; and nine grandchildren.

 

Memorial services will be at 11am Wednesday in Cathedral of St James Episcopal.  Cremation and entombment will take place at a later date at Riverview Mausoleum.  There will be no visitation.

 

Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  He was a member of Goose & Duck Club, Signal Point Country Club, a former member of board of directors of Memorial Hospital, YMCA and the Indiana Banking Commission, and was a graduate of Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario.  He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery during WW II.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of St Joseph County Inc.
