SOUTH BEND - Leah Hodges Campbell, 94, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday in the convalescent center of St. Paul's. Mrs. Campbell retired in 1961 from School City of Mishawaka as principal of Northside Elementary School and was a former teacher in Plymouth and North Webster.

She was born May 25, 1899, in Marshall County and was a lifelong area resident. In 1958, in South Bend, as Leah Hodges, she married Clarence Campbell. He died April 20, 1991. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Carol Barnett of South Bend and Shirley Campbell of Winamac; two stepsons, Billy of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Rev. Donald of South Lyons, Mich.; seven stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Ball State University and was a member of Daughters of American Revolution Schuyler Colfax Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Phi Lambda Theta Sorority, Business and Professional Women, National Retired Teachers Association, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in Reichert Cemetery, Talma. Friends may call an hour before services in the funeral home.
