Adelia "Del" Canarecci, 80, of Berkley Circle, Mishawaka, passed away peacefully, at 9 p.m., Sunday, April 30, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Del was born on October 13, 1925, in Mishawaka, to John and Anita (Fabri) Canarecci, who both preceded her in death. Surviving Del are her two brothers, Frank Canarecci Sr. and John Canarecci Jr. both of Mishawaka. Del left behind several nieces and nephews, whom she loved and was very proud of. Her niece, Janice Bell (Gene) was her buddy in her younger years and her caregiver in her latter years. Their special bond was quite obvious to all that knew her. Del joined her sister Millie (Amelia Mervilde) who passed away on Easter Sunday, Together again!

Del loved having a good time and she knew no strangers. Tuesdays at the Wander Inn will not be the same. To know her was to love her. Football weekends were a big part of Del's life for a lot of years. This goes back to when her brothers played for Mishawaka High School. She was a dedicated fan of the Fighting Irish. Del was The Personnel Administrator at the Wheelabrator Corp in 1987 when she retired after 44 years of employment. She was a member of The Julianna Club of Wheelabrator and a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Saint Joseph Hospital of Mishawaka, Family Nursing Services, St. Joseph Valley Visiting Nurse and a special thank you to Becky.

Family and friends visited from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with wake prayers at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 2 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, May 3 in St. Bavo Catholic Church with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
