Ada Rose Capelli

Ada Rose Capelli, 78, of South Spring Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Monday morning, April 3, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. Ada was born on April 8, 1921, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Albino and Leah (Lombardini) Capelli. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Dentino; and by a brother, Lido Capelli.

 

She is survived by two sisters, Leda Di Fiori and Vera (Charles) Hammes, both of Mishawaka; 22 nieces and nephews, Lauren Locke, Marlene (Ken) Locke, both of Maryland Heights, Mo., Gloria Hammes of Westmont, Ill., Tony Hammes of Indianapolis, Ind., Jeanette Capelli and Leanne Capelli, both of South Bend, David Capelli of Santa Fe, N.M., Jeanlea Cowsert, Leah Cowsert and Jilene Cowsert, all of Mishawaka, Jenny Cowsert of South Bend, Amy Zulich, David Zulich, Mike Zulich and Olga Zulich, all of Valparaiso, Ind., Jennifer Dentino, Angela Dentino, Kristine Dentino and Richard (Mary Ann) Dentino, all of South Bend, Gloria (Bill) Griesinger, Rachel Griesinger and Benjamin Griesinger, all of Westmont.

 

Ada graduated in 1939 from Mishawaka High School. She was a secretary for the former Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 45 years, retiring in 1984. Ada was a member of the Ladies Retiree Club at Uniroyal, and was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today, April 5, in the funeral home, where wake prayers will be at 4 p.m.
