Sister M. Guadalupe Cardenas CSC

SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Guadalupe (Maria Luisa Cardenas) CSC, 93, was born in Zinaparo Michoacan, Mexico, to the late Luis and Antonia Mena Cardenas. She is survived by nieces, Mary Helen (Charles) Solano, Ruth (Edward) Rodiquez, Rose (Bob) Garcia, Carmen Inez Ramirez; and nephews, Ray Ramirez, Pascual Ramirez and Gilbert Ramirez, all of California, and Gilermo Ramirez of Montana. Sister Guadalupe began her early education at Holy Cross School and St. Catherine's Academy, Ventura, CA. After entering the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, she was assigned to Idaho and Utah where she taught for nine years; then to California, teaching there for 37 years. She was in Texas 11 years. Health changes brought Sister to Saint Mary's Convent, Notre Dame, IN, where she was active in the Ministry of Prayer until her death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

 

Reception of the body will be at 4 p.m. today in Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN. Wake services will be at 4 p.m. today in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6th, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame.
