Ora L. Carmean

Mr. Ora L. Carmean, 59, of Kern Road died at 6:30 p.m. Monday in his residence of natural causes. Mr. Carmean was employed as a machinist at Master Metals since November of 1994. He had previously been employed at Haberle Machine Co. of South Bend and Ross Tool and Engineering of Walkerton. He was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Marshall County, Ind., and had lived in the Elkhart - South Bend area most of his life, coming from Plymouth, Ind.

 

On Dec. 5, 1987, in South Bend, he married Diane M. (Peterson) Wright, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter Pamela S. Butt of Syracuse, Ind.; one son Gregory L. of Niles, Mich.; one step-daughter Bertie Perry of South Bend; one step-son James Kalafat of South Bend; four grandchildren; his mother Mary Carmean of Plymouth, Ind.; two sisters Nancy Patton of Culver, Ind. and Linda Rupert of Dorr, Mich.; and one brother Gary of Hudson, Fla.

 

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Cremation will follow. Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. Mr. Carmean was a member of the Moose Lodge 58 and Hilltop Lutheran Church.
