Clyde C. Carnes, Jr.

Clyde C. ''Butch'' Carnes, Jr., 78, of Linden Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness on Wednesday, July 21, at 8:50 a.m. in Fountain View Place, Mishawaka. Mr. Carnes was born on Dec. 29, 1920, in Flint, Mich. as the son of the late Clyde and Alma (Wilder) Carnes.

 

On Feb. 24, 1946 in First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, he married the former Waneta Newcomer, who survives. He is also survived by one son, James M. Carnes of Mishawaka; and by two grandchildren, Lori Carnes of Bloomington, Ind. and Erin Carnes of West Lafayette, Ind.

 

Mr. Carnes was employed by Dodge Manufacturing for 36 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post #360 in Mishawaka. He was also a member of the Dodge Quarter Century Club.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, where V.F.W. Post 360 will conduct military rites.
