Dona Mae Casper, 78, a former South Bend resident, died Saturday, Aug. 3, at Columbia Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.

She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in South Bend, to Lewis and Blanche (Thornton) Mattern.

On June 6, 1957, in South Bend, she married Harley L. Casper, who passed away Oct. 2, 1988, in Bradenton, Fla.

She was a homemaker, and after retirement in 1972, moved to Bradenton, Fla.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally Ann Miller of Bradenton, Fla.; a son, Leon L. Casper of Mishawaka, Ind.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend, Ind., and burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., today, in the funeral home.

She was a member of the National Mahjongg League.
