Elizabeth L. Catalino, 87, of South Ironwood, South Bend, Ind., formerly of North Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Caring Junction, Mishawaka.

 

Elizabeth was born on Dec. 28, 1914, in St. Louis, Mo., as the daughter of the late Frank and Angela (Tumberello) Mandina. On June 9, 1935, in St. Louis, as the former Elizabeth Mandina, she married John Catalino, who also preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1990.

 

Elizabeth is survived by one daughter, Catherine (Vito) Salerno of Palos Hills, Ill.; one son, Santino "Sandy" (Joyce) Catalino of Cassopolis, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Mary (John) Benik, Lisa Watters, John (Dawn) Catalino, Steve (Lee) Catalino, Dawn (Jeff) Tobey, Marie (Wally) Mc Quade and Carla (Jay) Erickson; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister, Ann (George) Kohlenberger of St. Louis; and by one sister-in-law, Kathryn (Ross) Messana of Mishawaka.

 

Elizabeth was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka. She was employed by Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 30 years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

 

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 12, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. A wake prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 4 p.m. today. A

 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

 

The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St Bavo's Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
