MISHAWAKA - June E. Celie, 79, of Timberwood Court, formerly of West Sixth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, in the Holy Cross Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Celie was born on Sept. 11, 1918, in Garrett, Ind., and had lived in this area most of her life.

 

On Feb. 1, 1936, in Mishawaka, as June Mann, she married Joseph B. Celie, who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1989. Mrs. Celie is survived by two daughters, Dianna (Tom) Gundeck of Naples, Fla., and Patricia (Ron) Vervynckt of Granger, Ind.; two sons, Art (Karen) Celie of Mishawaka and Richard (Pat) Cukrowicz of Mishawaka; ten grandchildren, Jill Brenay, Jack Celie, Jeff Celie, Johanna Celie, Kellie Gundeck, Scott Gundeck, Paula Blust, Denise Mack, Debbie Boyer and Dawn Thibault; and by nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Celie was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church and the Mishawaka Police Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with

Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka, where a wake prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Society, Inc., 1725 York Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10128.
