MISHAWAKA – Aurelio “Tony” Cerri, 92, of Countryside Place of Mishawaka, died Thursday evening after an illness. He was retired from Drewrys’ Ltd. Of South Bend. He was born Nov. 2, 1895 in Cadeo, Italy, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1920.

 

On July 10, 1920 in Piontenure, Italy he married the former Angela C. Sala. She died Sept. 21, 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Yolanda Kizer of Mishawaka and Rosemary McNulty of South Bend; three grandchildren; and a sister Maria Bonzanni of Piacenza, Italy. A daughter Mary Rose Cerri died in 1939.

 

Services wil be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairvieew Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Hahn’;s DeVos Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or St. Jude’s Hospitl, Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Cerri was the oldest charter member of the DeAmicis Club and was an Italian Army veteran of World War I.
