Charles L. Chamberlin

SOUTH BEND - Services for Charles L. Chamberlin, 75, of East Broadway, who died after an illness at 3:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Cremation will take place, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.

 

Mr. Chamberlin was a former assistant manager for St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was born Aug. 9, 1920, in Mishawaka. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1167.

 

On Feb. 7, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Joan Hyatt. She survives with two daughters, Cindy Tomaszewski and Jenny Ball, both of South Bend; a son, Jeffery of South Bend; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Vellman and Dorothy Dosman, both of Mishawaka; and six brothers, Joseph of Mishawaka, Frank of South Bend, Robert of Missouri, Kenneth of Georgia, Paul of Coldwater, Mich., and William of Washington.
